Carrier corrections
This page describes how motor carriers may request review of a CarrierVet record, flag, or score. CarrierVet is operated by CarrierVet LLC, a New York limited liability company.
CarrierVet's carrier data is derived from records maintained by the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA), and CarrierVet derives risk signals from those records. A flag is a reason for a broker to take a closer look. It is not a finding that a carrier did anything wrong.
How to request a review
- Email hello@carriervet.dev with the subject "Carrier correction request".
- Include your USDOT number and MC number, the company name, which field or flag you think is wrong, and evidence such as a current FMCSA SAFER snapshot, an insurance filing, or a short explanation (for example, a shared address that belongs to your factoring company or dispatch service).
- Send it from an email address or domain on file with FMCSA for the carrier when possible, so we can confirm the request comes from the carrier.
What happens next
- We re-fetch your record from FMCSA and reply, usually within 2 business days, with what our copy shows and its source date.
- If our copy was out of date or we processed it wrongly, we fix it.
- If you have shown that a shared-contact flag has an innocent explanation, we may add a note or suppress that flag for your carrier.
- We keep a log of every change we make.
If the error is in FMCSA's own records
We can't change FMCSA data. Registration details (address, phone, email) are updated with FMCSA through a biennial update (Form MCS-150) at fmcsa.dot.gov. Inspection and crash data can be challenged through FMCSA DataQs (dataqs.fmcsa.dot.gov). Once FMCSA updates the record, CarrierVet picks it up in its next refresh. Email us if you'd like us to re-pull sooner.
We handle requests by email only and do not take phone calls. We don't charge carriers for reviews or corrections.
